Tama Info and FAQ
Tamagotchi were released in different types. They were: Gen1, Gen2, Angel, Garden, Ocean (I was told this was a tough one to take care of), Santaclautchi, Devilgotchi, Mesutchi, Osutchi, Plus/Connexion, Keitai, Connexion v2, Deka, Entama, Connexion v3, Keitai Akai, Uratama, Kakeibo, the Tamagotchi School, Tamagotchi School 2, Odenkun no Tamagotchi, Tamafure, Arukotchi, Tamago Chu, the newer Home Deka Tamagotchi, Connexion v4, Chibi Tamagotchi, Yasashii Tamagotchi and probably some other versions that I have missed. (Please notify me if I missed any!)

This Tamapedia currently contains only 317 Tamagotchi species (actually there's more, I've lost count) in its index though some may be repeats.

Tamagotchi were created by a Japanese woman named Aki Maita. Not me. Her. She liked pets but wanted one she could tote around in her pocket everywhere. Thus was born Tamagotchi. Well, that's what I've heard anyway.

Now, for the FAQ (I've made up some questions myself, to stop you from asking them). If you do have a question not listed here, drop me an email at dancinkayley@hotmail.com.

Q: On my v3/v4, I've donated 30 000G/200 000G and gotten all 3 souvenirs from the king, and now I have a royal costume giving me "Password for ??". What does this mean and where do I enter it?
A: On your v3 or v4, once you have donated the right amount of Gotchi Points and gotten the costume and retrieved the password, it is to be entered on either Tamagotchi Connexion: Corner Shop (v3) or Tamagotchi Connexion: Corner Shop 2 (v4) depending on what version your Tamagotchi is.

Q: What's this 'Family' thing I am seeing for the Tamagotchi descriptions?
A: The 'Family' thing? Well, in Chou Jinsei Enjoi Tamagotchi (Entama), they have the three families of Mamezoku, Memezoku and Kuchizoku. Mamezoku was for intelligence, Memezoku for style and Kuchizoku for kindness. I am trying to make it like that. In Ura Jinsei Enjoi Tamagotchi (Uratama), they have Uramamezoku, Uramemezoku and Urakuchizoku. Version 4 has the Universal family and version 4.5 has the Urauniversal family.

Q: There's already a TamaDex! Why bother creating the TamaPedia?
A: I dunno... I just feel as though the TamaDex didn't supply enough Tamagotchi information, it only supplied pictures, so I just decided to create a word thingy. For now mine doesn't supply images, so use the TamaDex to see some. Now, I think the TamaDex is now going to supply words so I'm in trouble 0_o but mine actually traces back to the days of Gen1 and Gen2, and maybe even DevilGotchi! YAY! (Btw I found most of my Tamagotchi information around the internet. Thanks to mimitchi.com and pixelmood.com for supplying some Tamagotchi information! And thanks to Bandai for creating Tamagotchi, of course.)

Q: Who is Yangu Mametchi?
A: Yangu Mametchi is Japanese for Young Mametchi... I think. I am trying to follow the Japanese names as much as I can.

Q: Robotchi does not exist! It's Androtchi!
A: Robotchi_does_exist. On TamaTalk, many are arguing about it being Androtchi or Robotchi. Call Robotchi/Androtchi whatever you like. Robotchi is the Japanese name. As I said in the above question, I'm trying to follow the Japanese names.

Q: The marquee text on the front page is moving way too fast for me!
A: Sorry about that! Just that the 'slow' speed moved way too slow. I can't fix anything for you now... but the text shows you the news so just hunt around the site!

Q: I know something you don't. Can I contact you?
A: Sure! Drop me an email at dancinkayley@hotmail.com and I will add it to the Tamapedia ASAP.

Q: The Tamapedia Directory isn't sorted from A-Z! How am I ever going to find Billotchi (or whatever)?
A: On Windows machines, hold Ctrl+F and type in whatever Tama you're searching for in the box. On Macintosh, it's Apple+F.

Q: What is Gen1 and Gen2?
A: Other names for Tamagotchi P1 and P2.

Q: How do you pronounce the Tamagotchi names?
A: Here's a quick pronunciation guide: A is pronounced Ah. I is pronounced Ee. U is pronounced Oo. E is pronounced Eh. And finally, O is pronounced Oh.

Q: Why do you spell Kutchipatchi Kuchipatchi and Itchigotchi Ichigotchi?
A: Because I've found that's how you spell them. It says on all the Japanese and English charts I've seen.

Q: Have you stolen my images?
A: I'm pretty sure I have taken them all from Tamagotchi's official site, Tamagotchi.com or drawn them myself. However, if I have, I would have put credits on the image (the image will say 'thanks [your website here]!). Or, I would have asked you first. If you don't like it, just email me at dancinkayley@hotmail.com. I'll try to be as open as I can.

Now most of my images I've drawn myself so you don't need to worry anymore.

Q: What areas of the Tamagotchi Planet are there?
A: Tamagotchi Town (main area), Mame City, Guruguru Town (Memetchi from Memezoku), Patchi Forest, Berry Town, Gozaru Village and Furawa Garden.

Q: What are the death symbols?
A: For most Japanese versions it's Obake-chi. For Ocean it's a submarine. For Angelgotchi it's either the angel banging its head or looking sad. For Gen1 it's an angel and for Gen2 it's a UFO. For Connexion it's the "Faceless Maru-ten".

Q: What are some new features of Entama/Chou Jinsei Enjoi?
A: GUTS points are the main thing. They come in three sorts: Intelligence (Mamezoku), Style (Memezoku) and Kindness (Kuchizoku). You can connect to the internet using FOURTEEN DIGIT passwords (as opposed to the usernames and the 10 digit passwords of v3). The IR port has been tweaked so it CANNOT connect with Connection, but it can connect to a Kakeibo where you can buy things and save up money. You can use secret dating cards to obtain secret characters and... I'm getting too carried away.

Q: I've seen one site saying that Zukitchi was spelled Zuccitchi. Is this true?
A: Well, knowing that there's no sign for 'cci', 'c', or 'ci' or even 'cc' in Japanese, but there's a sign for 'ki', I'm assuming that's not true and "Zuccitchi" is spelled "Zukitchi".

Q: What are Bikkurizoku and Hatenazoku?
A: Secret families of Chou Jinsei Enjoi/Entama and Ura Jinsei Enjoi/Uratama. Hatenazoku is the secret family of Entama, and Bikkurizoku is the secret family of Uratama. The baby of Hatenazoku is called Hatenatchi, and the baby of Bikkurizoku is called Bikkuritchi. Surprise!

Q: Add my site to your links page!
A: Tell me about it, and I will. If your name is already on the friends list, I figure why do it because your name is already plastered on my front page?

Q: The pictures were in the wrong spot and then they moved! *barf* What was that?
A: It was me, editing the page.

Q: Where do you get your information?
A: I take it off the internet and some contributors give me some information. When I feel like it I make some up. Thanks to the following sites as well:
